What
is JobLinks?
JobLinks is Northwest Connecticut's Transportation network offering
new and enhanced bus routes in Greater Waterbury, Danbury and
Torrington. The program enables people to get to jobs in areas
that were not previously served by public transportation.
What
areas does Joblinks serve?
Transportation
is provided to some of the top industrial and commercial areas
in Waterbury, Danbury and Torrington and is scheduled around shift
start and end times. For current schedules, click

Can
I use JobLinks?
JobLinks
transportation is available to the general public, including individuals
transitioning off welfare and other eligible low-income individuals.
What
is the cost of the fares?
Riders pay up to $1.65 for most fares, or $1.50 for customized
neighborhood or evening service. Individuals transitioning off
welfare and other eligible low-income individuals can receive
up to six weeks of transportation free, after which they pay the
regular fares.
How
do I access transportation?
In the Waterbury region, passes are issued on the basis of a calendar
month. During the first 15 days of the month, the rider will receive
a pass for that month only. Individuals issued a free pass after
the 15th of the month will be issued a pass for that month, as
well as the following month. In the Danbury and Torrington areas,
clients are issued ten ride passes for up to six weeks.
How
can riders register?
A client request form is completed by a job developer, case manager
or placement agency and submitted to the JobLinks Coordinator.
Copies of the client service request form are available from the
JobLinks Coordinator or can be found by clicking
here. Completed forms may be submitted through the web site,
mailed to to the JobLinks Coordinator at Workforce Connection,
249 Thomaston Avenue, Waterbury, CT 06708, or faxed to 203-573-8951.
What
if a rider becomes ill at work or has a family emergency?
Transportation is available through the Guaranteed
Ride program, which provides eligible program participants
with a free ride home if they become ill or have a family emergency.
Rides are limited to three per calendar year. Each program participant
will receive a written explanation of the emergency ride home
policy through his or her case manager.
Where does the funding for JobLinks come from?
The program is made possible by funding from the Connecticut
Department of Social Services, through Northwest Region Workforce
Investment Board, and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA)
through the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
